The Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum awards the Fitzgerald Prize for Literary Excellence annually to an author whose work continues the legacy of American storytelling while also exemplifying the craft, wit, and social insight typified by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This year, the ninth annual recipient will be American author, Min Jin Lee.

An Evening with Ta-Nehisi Coates Celebrating American Storytelling

An Evening with Ta-Nehisi Coates will be held at Ralph Abernathy Hall at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama on Friday, Sept. 22 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The evening will include the awarding of the 2023 F. Scott Fitzgerald Prize for Literary Excellence by the Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum followed by a discussion between Mr. Coates and Dr. Derryn Moten, professor of History at Alabama State University.

The Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald Museum is proud to announce the discovery and exhibition of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald’s “White Roses.” The painting has been considered for decades as one of her “lost” oil paintings and is one of her few known extant oil paintings from the 1930s.

The painting will be on display at the Fitzgerald Museum from April 12 through July 2023.

ZELDA & SCOTT: A Life Affair, a new play by Mark Edward Lang will be read at the museum on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 5pm. Featuring Alison J. Murphy as Zelda and Mark E. Lang as Scott, this play, based on Zelda and Scott’s letters over the course of their lives, captures the love and the trauma of the relationship and brings to life their complex history that made them both symbols of an age - The Jazz Age.
