The Ghosts of Gatsby in partnership with Samford University

  • The Montgomery Museum of FIne Arts 1 Museum Drive Montgomery, AL 36117 United States (map)

A free Montgomery performance of the beautiful new work 'The Ghosts of Gatsby'! Samford University commissioned and premiered the opera this past November, and now is touring the production about the lives of Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald to cities across Alabama. Written by librettist Joshua McGuire and composer Evan Mack, the work peers into the lives of Zelda and Scott in 1924 on the French Riviera. Scott is feverishly working to finish his novel 'The Great Gatsby' and Zelda has just had an affair with a French pilot. Both his alcoholism and her mental health stress an already fraying marriage. The opera is 45 minutes long, and is in English.

Featuring:
Blake Mitchell as F. Scott Fitzgerald
Sarah Harbaugh as Zelda in 1918
Savannah Bracewell as Zelda in 1924
